Zaid el-Mogaddedi is the founder and managing director of the Institute for Islamic Banking and Finance (IFIBAF) in Frankfurt, Germany.

For more than 15 years Mr. El-Mogaddedi worked in the field of the Financial Services industry and served in the renowned German insurance companies dealing with financial planning. From 2000 until 2005 he worked in a prestigious Swiss commercial bank where he established intra private banking insurance backed investment conceptions and was responsible for the development of innovative asset protection concepts.

Mr. El-Mogaddedi is the co- author of the specialist book „Vermögende Kunden richtig beraten" (Counselling wealthy clients correctly“) and author of the soon published specialist book „Islamic Banking". He has written numerous articles for various publications about Islamic Banking & Finance and is pretty often invited as the speaker for conferences about Islamic Banking.

 

Jalalle Chahboune - IFIBAFJalalle Chahboune is Director of the Institute for Islamic Banking and Finance (IFIBAF).

After professional training in the field of industrial sales representation Mr. Chahboune served in a renowned pharmaceutical company in Frankfurt am Main within the marketing compartment. Afterwards, he studied business administration at the The Applied Sciences University in Frankfurt.

In 2006 Mr. Chahboune took over the directorship of the Marketing & Sales Department of a real estate company. For the time being, he is responsible for the structuring of the corporate sales and the evaluation of new target groups.

In this connection he also deals with the possibilities of structuring Islam- conform real estate concepts within the German market.

Mustafa Aydemir - Head of Research GCCMustafa Aydemir holds a degree in Economics and Industrial Engineering and has been appointed to coordinate the GCC activities for The Institute for Islamic Banking and Finance (IFIBAF) in Frankfurt, Germany.

He started his career as a Consultant with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in Stuttgart, Germany in 2000. As a Senior Consultant he then joined SAP in 2002 and was later responsible for the region of South-West Germany as a Consulting Sales Manager. Following four years of business and technology consulting, he moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2006  to work as the Head of SAP Practice for Systems of Strategic Business Solutions.

In 2007, Mr. Aydemir worked for the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah as a Strategic Advisor and in parallel started his academic research, a doctoral thesis in Governance, Risk and Compliance and Strategic Management in Islamic Financial Institutions. He is currently a registered student in the PhD programme of the University Terbuka Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur.

Since September 2008 he has been studying at the Center of Islamic Finance at BIBF (Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance), an institution which received the ‘World´s Best Islamic Training Institution Award’ for 2008.

Today, Mustafa Aydemir is living and working in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His high-ranking network in the Islamic Banking industry as well as his academic projects are valuable for the coordination of the IFIBAF Research Center for GCC. He is the editor of our monthly newsletter Column, Bahrain Bulletin.

 

Mounsif Chtaiti - Head of Product Development Middle East & EuropeMounsif Chtaiti is Head of Product Development MIddle East & Europe and coordinates (inter alia) IFIBAF activities within the UAE and is responsible for the Dubai Office.

With almost 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, thereof 6 years as a management consultant/project manager, Mr. Chtaiti gained hands-on experience within leading banks, asset manger, financial services provider, insurance companies and reinsurer. Mainly in the field of business process reengineering, project management and regulatory requirements. He has been involved in assignments within Germany as well as in London, New York and Dubai where he gained valuable experience abroad.

After his trainee program with a leading German bank, Mounsif started his career as a management consultant with a London based consultancy, before he joined Ernst & Young where he was part of the Global Financial Services team.

Since 2007 Mr. Chtaiti has been working as a project manger at Emirates Bank in Dubai, where he is heading the project management office (PMO) for the Risk Management department of the Emirates NBD Group. In his position at Emirates NBD, he is directly reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO).


Mr. Chtaiti holds a degree in Business administration, specialised in Banking in Finance from the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim/Germany and a degree in Business Law as well with a focus on financial laws. He is currently finalising his master program in commercial law (Master of Law - LL.M.).
